During a media parley in Kabba, the Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Prof. K.I.T Eniola, spoke highly of the dedication and conduct of the institution’s pioneer students towards academic excellence. He stated that the first semester examination for the 2022/23 academic session, which ended on Friday, was conducted seamlessly by both staff and students. Prof. Eniola also commended the lecturers and non-academic staff of the university for the successful conduct of the maiden semester examination, which he noted was flawless.
The pioneer students expressed their excitement at the conclusion of their maiden examination. David Alimoke, a 100 level English and Literature Studies student, expressed satisfaction with the professional conduct of the lecturers towards the students, adding that the students enjoy a parent-child relationship with the staff of the university. David Fortune, a 100 level Mass Communication student, expressed happiness at having concluded the first semester exam.
The VC also announced that the institution, being the fastest-growing state university in Nigeria, will be going digital and embarking on all-encompassing ICT training for all staff. Plans are also underway to commence remedial programs in the institution, and the IJMB center in Kabba town is running effectively. Additionally, the VC disclosed that coaster buses will soon be procured to support the existing palliative transport system for the students, addressing transportation and accommodation challenges faced by the students.
Lastly, the Registrar of the school expressed gratitude towards former Governor Yahaya Bello for establishing the institution and Governor Usman Ododo for his continued support and development of the institution. The VC noted that the continued progress witnessed in the university culminating in the maiden examination has rubbished the notion that the institution is political, and commended the host communities for their hospitality towards the students.
