It is no longer news that Koton Karfe in Kogi LGA of Kogi State has been enveloped in avoidable crisis caused by personal ambition by people who have held the area captive in the last thirty years.
While The enthronement of King Salihu Akawu Saidu as the Ohimege of Igu Koton Karfe was greeted by the majority of the people as one of the most laudable decisions taken by the Kogi State Government to legitimately right the wrong of the past, it is alleged that Alhaji Musa Ahmadu, former Secretary to the Kogi State Government saw it as an avenue to vent his hostility against the person of the paramount ruler
Alh. Musa Ahmadu, in his desperation to become the Ohimege of the kingdom activated every evil machination to frustrate the emergence of King Salihu Akawu Saidu as the Ohimege of Igu Koton Karfe.
With his failure to become the Ohimege and inability to halt the coronation of King Salihu Akawu Saidu, Musa Ahmadu resorted to destructive criticism, blackmail, defamation, open condemnation of constituted authorities and recruitment of armed gangs to intimidate, harass, destroy, disrupt and cause mayhem in Koton Karfe and environs.
The gangs were allegedly being armed, mobilised, motivated and handsomely rewarded by the said Alhaji Musa Ahmadu.
The operation of the gangs involved physical assault on the King and his subjects, destruction of property and shooting of those perceived to be loyal to the King and constituted authorities.
As the existing security apparatus laboUred in vain to check mate these atrocities, the activities of the gangs climaxed on Tuesday 18th June 2024 with direct attack on the convoy of the Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Solid minerals and Natural Resources who was on a routine trip along the express road from Lokoja to his hometown leaving scores of injury.
The attack was unprecedented that it took concerted effort of the security attached to the Honourable Commissioner to rescue their principal from the shackles of death. God forbid!
It is in the public domain that Musa Ahmadu has vowed that Koton Karfe will know no peace until the Ohimege is dethroned and replaced by him.
We therefore call on security agencies and other relevant authorities to call Musa Ahmadu to order else, Koton Karfe and environs shall continue to be a reservoir for violence and lawlessness.
May God save the people of Koton Karfe and environs from the evil hands of Musa Ahmadu and his trouble makers.

He sponsored Saidu Hussaini to cast all manner of aspersions on the integrity of the family that gave him a wife, even when he was a known drunkard. They got him a job and he betrayed their trust by engaging in sharp practices in NSITF. He was going to be jailed, but one of the Okoriko sons still pulled him out of that mess. Even when he wanted to be a commissioner, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu facilitated it through Governor Ibrahim Idris. Many of his errand boys, who are either Civil Defence, Immigration and Prison officers, were employed through the efforts of an Okoriko son.
Now, because of his divisive tendency and mischievous orientation, he has picked one of the most respected sons of the land to malign and cause division among our ranks. He will never succeed!
Saidu lied that we attacked Bashir’s covoy. He should prove it by mentioning one of his supporters that was shot in the fracas. Unless he is habitually mischievous, let him mention one.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF CRISIS AND VIOLENCE ROCKING THE ANNALS OF IGU (KOTON KARFE) DYNASTY – KOGI STATE, NIGERIA.
By virtue of being a member of IGU KOTON KARFE community center, I have been able to investigate and find the root cause of crisis and violence lead to the destructive of old kingdom of koton karfe. The fight is cause as a result of the unresolved controversial issue of the kingdom stool successor dispute between two strong opposition factions rebellion and revolting against each other for Injustice done by the immediate past administrative governor of KOGI STATE. I urge to the presence KOGI House of assembly and the newly elected Governor to do justice on this matter that needs an urgent attention very to be resolved within a shortest time, so that peace and tranquility can reign as it is in the past.
Thus, I witnessed the crisis that happened in both during the Eid UL_fitri and Eid UL_adha celebrations, there are crisis and violence everywhere, it is obvious to find the youth of koton karfe fighting over the unaddressed controversial issue of arbitrary despotism. The threatening of Engineer Abubakar Bashiru Gegu triggered the violence leading to guns shooting at some innocent people of koton karfe, the violence exploded due to grievances of the Commissioner Bashiru Gegu as he boastful promised on 17th with a warning threatened to use his power as a commissioner to humiliated and assassinated any opposition faction who would Dishonored or disrespected the new king of koton karfe kingdom by either way of padlocking theirs mini-palace to stop theirs King SAS from entering the ancestral tomb or graveyard of the Deceased King (Ohimege) for royal visitation tour’s amongst the eighth (8) ruling Houses in koton karfe or found by rejecting his rulership of King SAS On 18th June ,2024. However, commissioner Engineer Abubakar Bashiru Gegu on that pledged he clearly and publicly declared, led his group of thugs to accomplished his promises to stages crisis and violence for his execution through the shots of guns on two people at night and came back in the day time to accomplished his mission where people were singing and dancing jubilating for Salah Celebration at Sabongaris’ quarter in the late Baba Abdul- Kareem (Ba’a kanti) compound where 15 peoples sustained wounds.
It should not be forgotten that most of the troubles and crisis that raged in koton karfe was masterminds by Saidu Akawu Salihu (SAS) who often invited Bashiru Gegu and Co to assist him for his usual rebellion norms to claims to the seat of King ( Ohimege) stool, as he first did to cast out (vacate) King (Ohimege) Abdulrazaq Gambo Sani Isa-koto from office (ruler). SAS ambitions for the throne was fulfilled by the used of tyrant group of Bashiru Gegu, hired thugs and seeking the support of the external politicians under Ex-GYB. His political organization and hired the notorious political thugs that was widely know and called as ” anti- Koto movement” overthrew Gambo from the throne of koton karfe kingdom without entangled any allegedly administrative misdemeanor or by commiting of any serious offences that could lead to his removal of rulership appointment. SAS sourght the help of immediate past administrative Ex- Governor Yahaya Bello to remove him to his favor as video of the Ex- GYB had gone viral on social media for his alleged to punished those that practices partician politics. Thus Gambo arbitrary despotism was natured on the agenda to radicle, rubbish, tarnish and intimate his personality.
It is clear that ” when the going was good, Ex-GYB celebrated with the king Abdulrazaq Gambo Sani Isa-koto, Ohimege IGU KOTON KARFE kingdom (Agaba Idu) for his 10th years anniversary on the throne (office).
Why the despotism? Only Ex-GYB can answer that. What is the offence of all those rulers in the state that led Ex- GYB to removed and suspended some of them? Only Ex-GYB can answer that question.
I wish to clearly state that the allegations about Alhaji, Comm. Musa Ahmodu former SLG to kogi state is not true,it is not correct and has no element of facts. It is an argument against personality (Argumentum Ad Hominem fallacy) refers to Abusive. This is an argument that is directed on the person instead of the issue on the ground. Is because the Ukwo rulings house were in the court to claim there mandate if actually King was removed from office is now the turn of the next rulings house because one ruling house can not be on the throne for two terms concurrently, and consecutively coplanar due to already established costomary law of 1978 edit of local government chieftaicy rules. King Abdulrazaq Gambo sani isa-koto as well know as turn 26th Ohimege-Igu should either be reinstated back to complete his reign or Ukwo rulings house (Ukwo Ebe) were waiting for their turn 27th for justice and equity.
Divide and conquer was not a new idea to Africans or Europeans. They violated laws and executed theirs pupper. When court give them order they will obey and quiet.
We are aware that both SAS and Bashiru Gegu often State openly and publicly threatened declared that Ukwo ruling houses is their problem now is SLG. Their harshness, brutality and humiliation can not stop us until justice is done.
It should not be forgotten that the troubles and crisis that engulfed and raged to Koton karfe was a result of clashes of the arbitrary deposition and illegal/unlawful enthronement did by the past regime’s of Bello.
The traditional rulers are not akin to political appointees, and any attempt to remove them should be based on serious offences otherwise, the fighting continued hand to hand and street by street, house to house. Since six months ago when SAS was struggling to sustain the stool but no progress. Their diplomacy to the issue were crude rather than clever.
From general point of view, the inhabitants of koton karfe kingdom bow tie to protect and preserve their customs and traditions coming rain or sun shine. No surrender no going back until justice is achieve.
The arbitrary despotism was nurtured on the basis of political sentiment and political motivation of personal interests rather than of withdrawal of allegiance to the stool.
All the three survival kingmakers were still intact in loyalty to King Abdulrazaq Gambo sani isa-koto instead of SAS.
Thus, royal blood of koton karfe kingdom respect and honor King Abdulrazaq Gambo sani isa-koto, they are not supporting King SAS. The clear and accurate picture of this is the manner The original royal blood freeborn lineages family are dropping to Abuja to show their absolutes support of nobility. The royal family is recognized through both males and females of Odaki and Ukwo ruling houses of igu who selects the candidate of Abdulrazaq Gambo sani isa-koto as Ohimege-Igu greeted (Agaba Idu).
During the contest of 2012 to the stool, Abdulrazaq Gambo sani isa-koto was the winner of the race to the successor dispute. If there were no losers there could be no winners in any contest. SAS claiming the ownership of the stool which CSP Gambo was in possessed the stool position of the office (ruler) by law and confirmed for 11years plus. By law of relationship between ownership and possession “Wrongful possession mature into ownership”. Again, prior to the first early for 2012 contest, if King SAS allegedly claim that he won the race of 2012 mandate and was endorsed and approved for his appointment of Ohimege-Igu before government induced committee subversed his nominee. Neither he nor Odaki family members argued on suits for his right. He should know that in laws of equity “equity will not award a remedy to a person who has slept over right for a long period as to make it inequitable and unjust for him to assert the right of true owner of position against an innocent possession party. Let him step down for peace to reign please.
Please, the prominent citizens of kogi state is calling the Government of Nigeria should apply impartial justice to this issue not arbitrary justice.
Impartial justice is a vital tools to be used in making correction of any mistake did by the passed administration to overruled decisions which he believed were unfair but it’s need a clear proofs to convinced people to avoid conflicts and disorder.
