The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area has endorsed the All Progressive Congress Party, APC’s chairmanship candidate, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, and vice chairperson candidate, Hon (Mrs) Ifedunmi Olumeyan.
The endorsement came on the heels of a grand coalition for Zacchaeus/Olumeyan ticket and formation of an alliance.
Among those who attended the event were ADC Kabba/Bunu LGA Leader, Hon (Dr.) Femi Idris; ADC LGA Chairman, and ADC chieftains, Hon Ayodeji Ajayi and Hon Gadafi respectfully.
In his remarks, the ADC leader, Dr. Femi Idris who’s popularly known as Idrufem, said the Zacchaeus/Olumeyan movement was a worthy cause and promised to ensure victory for the movement. We are committed to supporting Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael out of our own will. We recognize his strong performance while serving as the caretaker chairman and we believe in standing by our brother rather than seeking alternatives.
“We knew that APC is a grassroots political party with an inclusive culture and unique character that can champion the transformation of the local government area and Kogi State at large.
“A party to birth a new kogi, where opportunities abound for all as a result of justice, rich diversity principles and values, and creative leadership with capacity to inspire the greatest innovative pursuit amongst our youths and entire people.
“A state where every one of us and our future generation can dream big dreams and see their dreams come true. A state where no one is oppressed.
“Today, we come together as a family and as a formidable third force to take stand in solidarity, moving forward for the viable chairmanship candidate the entire local government area is clamouring for.
“After our due diligence and critical assessment of all the APC candidates and what they have to offer Kabba/Bunu LGA, we decided as a party that the Zacchaeus/Olumeyan Movement is a worthy cause to endorse.
“Today, we form this Star Alliance for one purpose only: to ensure a loud victory. This Star Alliance is significant, because we must decide to shape the space mindfully going forward.
Responding, the APC flag bearer, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael expressed his gratitude for their decision to support APC and its candidates, describing it as a strong indication of the ADC members in solidarity with him.
The former caretaker chairman assured the ADC members that his administration is ready to provide an enabling environment for all residents of the local government area.
Promising inclusive participation, Zacchaeus emphasized that all groups would not be marginalized but would enjoy the benefits and opportunities within the APC.
