The Obaro of Kabba and chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, HRM, Oba Dr. Solomon Dele Owoniyi was the Royal Father of the day at the launching and unveiling of Okun Youth Alliance Movement in Kabba on the 14th February, 2025, calling on Okun political leaders to deliver democracy dividends for development at OYA movement launch
Addressing the gathering of great men and women of Okun nation at the epoch making event of the launching and unveiling of Okun Youth Alliance Movement, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council commended the organisers and initiator of Okun Youth Alliance Movement for their gesture at promoting unity, progress and development in Okunland, highlighting the importance of youth in the development of any given society
The revered monarch appeal to the good people of Okun nation across the whole world to rise up for the upliftment and progress of the region. His word; “Let me use this opportunity to appeal to all our political representatives in various offices to live up to expectation for the betterment and progress of our region.”
“We will continue to pray and applaud those who are doing well for the progress and development of Okun nation. We will also rise up against those who are not using their positions for the interest of our people. Use your position which our people have entrusted you with, to facilitate development, programmes and policies that are humanly oriented for the overall development of Okun nation, as such would be in the interest of the region.”
On the Okun Development Association formation of its leadership, the Obaro of Kabba urged them to reexamine their composition of their executive so that Kabba can re-join the association for the best interest of the region. “Though, I am not speaking for Kabba Development Union, but as the Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, l urge the leadership of Okun Development Association to re-examine the composition of their executive and make all necessary adjustment by carrying every parts along so that Kabba can re-join the ODA and by the special grace of God, Kabba will be fully part of ODA again.”
The Obaro of Kabba used the opportunity to appeal to Kogites to continue to support the policies and programmes of the current administration under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo whom he noted is working round the clock for more gains of democracy across the nooks and crannies of the confluence state
