The leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba District of Kabba/Bunu LGA have unanimously endorsed the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael and all the nine (9) Councillors for the district for continuity ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Election party primaries in Kogi State.
The decision was arrived at, at a well attended stakeholders and leaders meeting on Monday afternoon.
While making the opening remarks to kickstart the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Matter and Chairman of the Forum of Special Advisers to the Governor, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi thanked the leaders for their promptness and presence despite the shortest notice given for the meeting. He stated that the meeting was for the leaders to meet and take decisions on the forthcoming primary elections for the Councillorship and LGA Chairmanship.
He further explained that it became important to seek the leaders and stakeholders direction and position on the coming elections which was the sole reason for the meeting and requested that a far reaching decisions be taken in the interest of the party.
While speaking at the meeting, former member of Kogi State House of Assembly and presently Member of the Kogi State Assembly Service Commission, Hon Alfred Bello enjoined stakeholders to work in unity without rancor to arrive at decisions that would be beneficial to the people and the party.
He admonished that the people stay united and in one accord in the interest of the party and growth of the people.
Also speaking in the same vein, Chief Joseph Arokoyo, Hon Funsho Olorunfemi, Engr SB Bello, Hon Ben Olorunfemi, Chairman Aiyeteju/Kajola Ward, Asuta Ward and Egbeda Ward all appraised tenure of the current Chairman and Councillors and encouraged them to continue to represent well, deliver good governance and sustain the dominance of the party in their area.
At the end of the meeting, the leaders resolved to endorse the Chairman and all the Councillors in the interest of peace, development and because of the limited time they spent in office.
The leaders recognizes the need to sustain the current structure in order to manage the party unity as every election comes with its attendant crisis that is capable of threatening the unity the party requires ahead of 2027 elections.
